Milestones & Past Achievements PDF Print

SRD have been building engines for aircraft and the motorsport industry for approximately 20 years. In that time we had many victories and championship wins, some included were:

  • Winning the New Zealand Superkart championship for three consecutive years 2001 , 2002, 2003, with outright lap record at Taupo International Motor race way.
  • Winning the OSCA GT1 TRANZAM Championship 2004/05 season.
  • Engineering a Formula Toyota racing team, our drivers finished first and second and won the prestigious motor sport cup of New Zealand at Pukekohe 2006/07
  • Supply of engines for Brennics Mini 7 Team they won the south island championship twice, 1 New Zealand title and 3 lap records

As the business expanded we were involved in some major projects some are listed below:

  • Design and manufacture of testing jigs and fixture for NAVMAN Electronics GPS systems.
  • Design of tooling and components for Boeing 747 and 777 upgrade program.
  • Manufacture of components and tooling for Air New Zealand Class divider project, live TV Project etc.
  • Design and manufacture tooling for the manufacture of composite parts for ANSTO’s new particle beam accelerator in Sydney, Australia.
  • Consultant ,Design and Manufacture of the engines and Drive train components for the Martin Jetpack.
  • Consultant ,Training and support for the upgrade of software and machines in the RNZAF base Woodburn for Safe Air Ltd.
  • Manufacturing specialist components for the L3 Communication upgrade on the P3 Orion aircraft for RNZAF.
